English Heritage are responsible for much older properties and sites of historical importance, such as castles, ancient settlements, stone circles etc. Many can be found throughout Cornwall and Devon.

Mining Heritage
Along with nine other areas throughout Cornwall and Devon, the Tamar Valley was granted World Heritage Status in 2006 owing to the importance of the mining industry
remains still in existence.
Developments in mining technology in these areas helped fuel the Industrial Revolution, and local expertise was exported all over the world.
